Description
Procto-Hemolan Protect is a medicinal product in the form of suppositories used for local treatment of hemorrhoids.
Composition
The active substances are basic bismuth gallate, zinc oxide and tannin.1 suppository contains:
- 0.2 g of basic bismuth gallate,
- 0.1 g of zinc oxide,
- 0.15 g of tannin.
Excipients: cocoa butter.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Rectal use.
The usual dose is 1 or 2 suppositories a day.
If after 7 days of use there is no improvement or other, previously unobserved symptoms, you should contact your doctor to exclude other potential causes of these ailments.
Action
Procto-Hemolan protect has an astringent effect. The tannin contained in the preparation reduces the sensitivity of the sensory endings in the anus, thanks to which it relieves the symptoms of hemorrhoids such as pain, burning, itching. Bismuth gallate forms a protective layer on the surface of the anal mucosa.
Indications
Procto -Hemolan protect is used in
- topical treatment of ailments caused by haemorrhoids (hemorrhoids),
- inflammation of the rectal mucosa.

When not to use Procto-Hemolan protect:
- if you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The drug may cause local and systemic allergic reactions.
Warnings and precautions
In addition to the treatment of haemorrhoids with Procto-Hemolan protect, it is recommended to maintain good hygiene around the anus, exercise appropriately and follow a suitable diet to maintain a soft stool consistency.
- The drug must not be taken orally.
- Avoid contact with the eyes.
- Store below 35oC .
- Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
